The ECAC meets at 7 pm on the
first Tuesday of each month in the fellowship hall of the First Presbyterian
Church, 1599 Sewell Drive, Elko, Nevada. Each meeting begins with a Brown
Bag drawing. Then there is a business meeting followed by refreshments and a
demonstration of an artistic technique by a member artist.Brown

Each month, members may choose to buy $1.00 tickets for a drawing to
determine who wins that month’s “Brown Bag” prize. The winner is responsible
for bringing the Brown Bag prize for the next month’s meeting. Brown Bag
prizes are usually something artistic that has been created by the Brown Bag
provider, and the prizes are typically brought to the meeting in a brown
paper bag. Proceeds from Brown Bag drawings go to the ECAC Scholarship Fund.
Demonstrations
ECAC members sign up in advance for the opportunity to demonstrate an
artistic skill or technique at the monthly meetings. Demonstrators are paid
$25.00 per demo for their time, expertise, and materials. Recent demos have
included: pen and ink techniques, stone sculpture, torn paper collage art,
faux dichroic glass jewelry, caricature drawing, monoprinting, airbrushing,
and double-loading brushes with acrylics to paint flowers. |
